BLUE MARTINIQUE TARANTULA

The Blue Martinique is a small tree dwelling tarantula reaching a leg span of 10cm.
WHAT THEY EAT
They eat insects, small tree frogs and small lizards.
PREDATORS
This small tarantula has many predators including birds, monkeys, other spiders and giant centipedes.
LOCATION
Found on the island Martinique in the Caribbean

DID YOU KNOW...
As with all other South American tarantulas they have an ability to kick irritating hairs at would be predators. this unusual defence irritates skin and eyes no too dissimliar to a nettle sting.
Unlike most tarantulas these spiders can leap from trees onto water below if in danger. Because of their light weight they can actually scurry across the surface.
